Yesterday evening I stopped by William H. Miller Studios & Fine Art to see the “Color Theory” show before it closed, making way for the “Black & White” show.
In “Color Theory,” artists were invited to focus on a specific color or combination, “creating works that explore the emotional and psychological impacts of color.” This gave me the impetus to finish “Evening Blues,” a 36″ x 48″ acrylic on canvas that features the very blue domain of my good friends, the seagulls.
The “Black & White” show launched today! I plan to attend its reception from 5–8 p.m. this Saturday, September 13, where artists and guests are encouraged to wear black & white in observance of all the black-and-white artworks on display. I hear live music is planned, not to mention food and wine, and this annual event is usually eagerly anticipated, so it should be a fun evening.
The show will be up through September 23. Come see my large charcoal drawing “Over Waties Island,” along with many strong, beautiful works by Miller Gallery artists. Road construction is still making it a little tricky to access, but the city has recently finished some very civilized new sidewalks out front! Stop by at 702 8th Ave. North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
