Four new pieces of mine (actually, some of them not so new) were hung today at William H. Miller Studios & Fine Art, including three photographs and one charcoal & graphite. More about the two larger pieces is below. Considering entering another piece in an upcoming juried show at Miller Studios. Richard and I had planned to be on the road through mid- to late November, visiting the Grand Canyon and points between and beyond, but mechanical difficulties sadly cut things short, so now I’m happily back to artwork!

“Anhinga at Dawn,” photograph, 2024, 33″W x 23″H framed

This photo was a favorite of many images captured on a peaceful, magical dawn at Huntington Beach State Park. Richard and I camped out the night before so I could walk to the causeway in the predawn darkness and commune with the water birds as they woke up the day.

“Night Heron,” charcoal and graphite on paper, 2020, 31″W x 25″H framed

A visit to the aviary at Brookgreen Gardens inspired this drawing of a black crowned night heron. (Update: SOLD)

The two other exhibited photos are “Approaching Storm (Waties Island),” 19″W x 15″H; and “Sand Shadows,” 15″W x 17″H.
