Oddly, until recently I thought I was painting and photographing birds and water out of convenience. But the truth is that my eye is naturally drawn to them. They reflect light and air and a sense of freedom, connection, flow, and comfort. I love spending time with them. A painting requires extended immersion, a photograph is born in a blink of the eye. I took this one back in late April.
