Honored that my oil painting “Garden Vista, Monticello,” painted some years ago from a perch on the gift shop porch, has been accepted for inclusion in the 14th Annual Collector’s Event of Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum. One hundred juried works in total from local, regional, and international artists are donated to benefit the Museum, and 100 ticket purchasers get to pick their favorite when their number comes up in the raffle.

You can learn about the event and purchase tickets here.

Don’t wait too long — tickets always sell out.

Update April 8: I’m pleased that the Museum just featured my painting in a “sneak peak” Facebook post.

While on the topic …

A wonderful show just opened at the museum. I went to see it last Sunday. Close to 60 works of Mary Edna Fraser are filling the main galleries. Mary Edna captures small, medium and vast landscapes in batik and oil. Many oils are painted en plein air, while her flowing, hanging batiks are sourced from her own aerial photographs of winding rivers, creeks and coastlines. Watch this Facebook video to see her presenting her work just before her show opens … her passion and commitment to natural preservation shine as much as her artwork does. (If you’re not a Facebook member, just close the popup window that invites you to subscribe, and you can watch.) The show is up through May 18, 2025.
